Article: The appeal of boucle yarn and how to convert factory yarn count

The appeal of boucle yarn and how to convert factory yarn count

Good evening.

I'm Shima, a staff member.

About my favorite thread boucle

Today I would like to share with you some of its charms.

If you have time, I would be happy if you could join us.

First of all, why do I like bouclé?

It's the softness when knitted and the gentle feel of the yarn.

The yarn becomes fluffier when washed, and is called "mofumofu."

I feel like the words are close.

This was made using four strands of 1/14 mini wool boucle yarn.

Pattern by : #KorpsångShawl

Book by: The 52 weeks of shawl

165cm×75cm

The specified thread was 50g = 175m and the circular needle was 3.75mm.

The size is 175÷50g=3.5 (1g=3.5m), which is expressed as 1/3.5.

As you can see below, 3.5 count is medium-fine, and the thread I have is a factory thread called 1/14, which is classified as an ultra-fine thread.

Now, let's calculate how many strands we need to take to get closer to the specified thread.

Single-piece: 1/14 ultra-fine

2- piece : 2/14 (=14÷2=1/7)

3-piece: 3/14 (=14÷3=1/4.6) medium-fine

4 strands: 4/14 (=14÷4= 1/3.5 ) Medium-fine

If we use 4 strands of 1/14 ultra-fine yarn,

This system allows you to knit with the same thickness as the specified yarn.

When purchasing thread, the thread count and g number are listed.

It helps to keep them together.

Most craft threads are written as 50g = ◯m.

If you do the same calculation, you will be able to find out the size and number of pieces you need.

I bought factory thread, but...

If you are thinking, "I don't know how to apply this!"

Please give it a try ^^

Even though I am not good at math, I was able to understand it, so once I got used to it, I could

I think you can make use of factory yarn!

This boucle is not just for adults.

The children's ones are cute.

It's cute to knit it into clothing, and the rompers for children are also cute.

It just makes my imagination go wild.

It's also a wonderful thread that can be used as a weft to change its appearance through weaving!

I would be so happy if you too would become addicted to boucle.

See you later!
